Maybe the strategy should just be to go after the symptoms (esp. pain) and ignore the cause. The new doctor sounds very promising. I guess there are also pain centers which might have some things in their arsenal. Some people benefit from TENS units, acupuncture, etc. Dont know if they would be of any benefit.
